My acer aspire 7 ,i5, 12th gen laptop cannot turn on by just battery itself .

The laptop requires power cable to be plugged in innorder to turn ON . But it only needed while i click the power button , even if I remove external power immediately after the keyboard lights up, it will work fine. Infact I'am typing this on my laptop with just battery. If I try to turn on using just battery, There is no light on screen or keyboard but the blue led on the right side of laptop blinks 4time.( usually that light stays on as long as the laptop is turned on). Does any one know the solution to this?

Your laptop startup chip is frozen and needs resetting, so do a hard reset, . You have two choices if you are not tech savvy, as your laptop is new and under warranty, you can send it back to Acer support or wherever you bought the laptop from and they will send it to Acer, the other option you have, is to unscrew all the back cover screws and pry the back cover out/off gently not to damage the laptop, then disconnect and remove the main battery and disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery also and take the ram module(s) out, leave everything disconnected for about 15min and then reconnect everything and boot the laptop, as and after you do all this your laptop should work properly, if the power button and laptop still doesn’t turn on then there is an issue with your power switch key on the keyboard or other power circuitries that need diagnosing and fixing by an experienced tech at Acer.

This is indicating a battery issue (too powerful or incompatible), do a Battery Report by typing in an elevated (open as Administrator) Command Prompt (black icon on your desktop or type Command prompt in the search bar):

powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Open the report on your desktop (double click on "battery_report.html") and check the full load capacity if this exceeds the design capacity (should be lower). Also check if your battery model is the correct one tested by Acer for your laptop and not a 4 cell battery!

I had this issue with the same model as you. I bought it less than six months and when I got this issue

I am only able to turn on the laptop with a charging cable connected, and with the battery, it's not turning on blue light keeps on blinking for 7 seconds or so

Power drain

1. Please unplug the charger and completely shut down the system.

2. Remove all the connections from the system like external keyboard or USB etc...

3. After the complete shutdown, please press and hold the power button for 40 seconds.

4. Please connect the charger to the system and press and hold the power button for 4 seconds.

These steps might help solve the issue for me. I got to see this issue either after an update in windows. Or sometimes, I used to rollback updates.

Check these steps and see if this works.
