What laptop do you have and what OS do you use. As in Win-11 the laptop should wake up from sleep when you open the lid automatically, if it doesn't then press the power key once, as that should wake your laptop from sleep. In Win-10 pressing the touchpad and any key should wake the OS from sleep.

Win-11 is different to Win-10 in sleep mode, I'm running Win-11 on my Nitro 5 AN515-56 and whenever I put the laptop into sleep the laptop takes about 1-2min to go into full sleep mode (which also activates the 4 digit passkey to login), just as an example in my neck of the woods its summer now and temps are over 100F and the laptops fans are working full on, and when I put this laptop to sleep with its fans blaring, it doesn't go into sleep mode only after 1-2 min. To wake the laptop up from sleep mode, the laptop wakes up automatically when I open the lid and I need to put my 4 digit passkey or press the power key once. While in another and an older laptop that I have with Win-10 Pro, sleep mode gets activated straight away and gets woken up by either pressing the touchpad, external mouse or any keyboard key which I found to be very different than Win-11. So consider this as there is a diference between sleep mode in Win-11 and Win-10.
