My laptop, model AN517-41-R0RZ is just over a year old.

Since I bought it there have been sporadic but annoying audio issues. There are crackles and pops when I use USB headsets, (Logitech H600 and Astro A50), and through the speakers as well.

I have tried deleting Realtek drivers, re-installing drivers, changing what the power button does, etc. etc. I have scoured the forum for answers and have had nothing work.

I have been troubleshooting this off and on since I bought the laptop, and the only solution is to use the headphone jack with POS headphones, which is not what I want to use. I have an awesome headset that should not collect dust because of this sort of problem. Is this a problem that is just unfixable? Has this not ever been addressed by Acer?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Open Control Panel. Search 'sound'. Click 'change sound card settings' in left pane. Right click speaker with popping noise. Click properties. Click advanced tab. UNcheck all boxes. Apply. Test again.

Thank you for your response, Jack E, and I wish this was the solution that worked, but it did not.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you in advance.

Search Windows start menu ‘true harmony’. If installed, right click and disable the True Harmony app near the top of the Windows menu.
