I just purchased this nitro 5 6 days ago and have been doing light gaming on it. It’s been working great until today when I came home and opened it up to wake it and it did not turn on. I’ve tried the solutions that others have posted with similar problems that may be related to the battery but nothing has worked. The keyboard does not flash or turn on at all and neither does the screen. The battery light is a steady blue when plugged in and the only other light that comes on is the blue light right next to the battery light that comes on momentarily (about 3 seconds) when I hold the power button down.

ive tried using different outlets for the charger and I’ve tried holding down the power button for 1 minute and waiting 30 min to plug the charger back in to reset the battery.

I hope this isn’t a common problem and there’s an easy fix. I’m not suuuuper technically savvy but I will most likely take it back to the microcenter where I bought it. Just hoping there’s a solution available.

It also should be noted that my mouse does not light up at all when plugged in so it may be battery issue?

You have probably locked the laptop up by pressing too may buttons to turn it on 😁 as you only need to press the power on key once to turn this laptop on. You need to do a Hard Reset, open the back cover and undo the screws, pry open the back cover from the top part as you are holding the laptop and from the vents slowly, it should open very easily, now disconnect the main batteries plug first, then unscrew the main battery and taker it out and then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery also and take the battery out and also take the ram out. Leave everything disconnected for 15 min and reconnect all the parts back, reboot, as all this will reset your laptop to function like it was when you took it out of the box and 100%.

In future you only need to press the power ion key slightly and once and then wait for the keyboard lights to go through the reboot process until you will get to the Win-11 login screen, if you don’t use your laptop daily then this is the power on process that you should use, if you use your laptop daily then put the laptop in sleep mode as in sleep mode all you have to do is open the screen and the Win-11 login screen will appear.

I’ve only used sleep mode and haven’t turned it off fully since I use it everyday. Previously I would just open it up and it would turn on perfectly. Only this time it didn’t and I waiting to see maybe if it was just loading, but after a minute of nothing happening I pressed space bar to see if would wake it up. When it didn’t, I pressed the power key once to see if it would turn on Then when it didnt that’s when I turned to google. I tried a variety of battery resets and those didn’t work. A manual battery reset seems to be the way to do it but what would stop it from happening again?

i actually just finished chatting with customer support and they diagnosed it as a battery issue and will have it sent to the warehouse to get a new battery, so that’s nice.

if it happens again I’ll definitely try this though. Thanks!

does your laptop sealed and tamper-free in the box or it is already been displayed in the store before you bought it?

do not try to open your new laptop yourself without practicing (old / damaged laptops), definitely you will void the warranty and risk damaging it.

when buying new laptop, insist on buying the sealed ones that are tamper-free or not opened from its box.
