AN517-54-71LM with 2 x 1 TB SSD RAID 0: [SATA Mode] not available in BIOS even after [Ctrl+S]

I am trying to install Ubuntu in parallel to the installed Windows 10. But the Ubuntu installer doesn't detect the SSD partitions, as the AN517-54-71LM has 2 x 1 TB SSD in RAID 0 configuration. https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/13993-how-to-change-sata-mode-to-ahci as well as many discussion posts mention to press [Ctrl+S] to make [SATA Mode] visible and change to AHCI. But with AN517-54-71LM this only reveals the [VMD Controller] and [Touchpad] settings, but no [SATA Mode]:

Disabling [VMD Controller] as suggested by https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/651140/acer-nitro-5-an515-57-57an-bios-change-sata will result in no longer being able to boot Windows 10. Neither is there a [SATA Mode] setting nor can the Ubuntu installer detect the partitioning of the two SSDs:

nvme0n1/nvme1n1 indicate the 2 SSDs, but no partioning detected.

Any idea on how to install Ubuntu on a AN517-54-71LM with 2 x 1 TB SSD RAID 0?

VMD controler is the RST / RAID setting :) , flick it to off and you are good to go (keep in mind windows will boot loop after you do this)

To get windows back, i think if you set it so safe mode before you turn it off it will allow it to boot as it wont load the driver, but not sure if tis able to recover after that without a re-install

Leostat, thanks for taking your time trying to help out here. Please see my initial statement "...disabling [VMD Controller] ... no longer being able to boot Windows 10. Neither is there a [SATA Mode] setting nor can the Ubuntu installer detect the partitioning...". So I already tried this and it does not solve the issue in case of my Nitro 5 model. Note the BIOS won't find any bootable system when the [VMD Controller] is off. So no way to boot Windows, no matter whether normal or safe mode.

I suspect the AN517-54-71LM configuration of the 2 x 1 TB SSD combined to a single 2 TB drive by RAID 0 does not allow to disable the [VMD Controller], unless completely starting from scratch again, i.e. completely reinstall Windows 10, and not combining the two drives to a single logical drive. But of course I can be wrong and somebody still has an idea.

I wonder if that is an effect of how the raid is configured,and it's not just setting the VMD but also the raid state . I would have thought you could turn VMD off but keep the raid

Have a feeling it will be ineed need to be off then re install both os's then. As it's not possible to use VMD with any Linux distro, even clear, which sucks. You would have thought intel would have done a driver in their own distro right!
