if it is second hand, clean the RAM or replace it.

replace the CMOS battery (use original SONY or PANASONIC)

do a hard reset by dismantling all the attached components of the motherboard including the processor and jumpers. wait for 15 minutes before installing back all the components. always wear your anti-static wrist strap and connect it to the casing before disassembly and assembly. always use anti-static mat where you can put the dismantled sensitive components and the mobo (motherboard) itself.

Try to reset the mobo and bios, disconnect the power cord, then take the bios battery and ram out, leave the desktop like that for about 15min and reconnect all components and reboot, as that should reset the mobo and make your desktops image work. Also check the monitor if there are no problems with that. If that doesn't work, and as this desktop is brand new, don't do anything else to your PC and take it back to where you bought the desktop from or to Acer, as its under warranty

Time to switch into computer support mode... :) Any chance the video cable came loose? You should still be in warranty if there's anything actually broken, but usually it's something simple. Note that I didn't bother to ask if the power cord was still plugged in, since you get the beep. :)
