I have an Acer Nitro 5 an515-46-r226 laptop and I have an AOC 2777 pqu monitor connected to it (to the native DisplalyPort 1.2 input, which has a maximum speed of 21.6 Gbit / s) via a USB-typeC connector with DisplayPort support (refers to the built-in AMD processor graphics core). And in this way, I can only get "8-bit 4k 60Hz" - this can be seen in the AMD graphics driver settings and in the display properties.
However, with the exact same cable to the exact same USB-typeC port on an HP 455 G8 laptop (ryzen 5600u AMD with Radeon™ Graphics) I immediately get "10-bit 4k 60Hz".
Here are the screenshots.

I noticed that in the MPC-BE player, with the madvr filter in exclusive full-screen mode, I have a 10 bit image output. But in the window in the same place - 8 bit.
Maybe it automatically changes the channel width on this laptop? How then to look at the current speed of the channel?
I solved the problem radically by buying a new samsung ls27a704nwi monitor. It is with HDR and everything works as it should - 4k, 10bit, 60Hz + HDR.
FAQ & Answers
Are the AOC Win10 or Win11 drivers installed on the Acer?
https://eu.aoc.com/en/products/monitors/u2777pqu/downloads
Yes, installed.
Go to this link, download & install the Jan AMD & nvidia driver & utility updates.
Thanks for the advice, but that's what I did first. No positive result.
Download and install iobit's DriverBooster freeware to see if it can pick up any better drivers on line for the port. How does the HDMI port work with it?
I used the iobit driver booster and it does not find anything suitable. My monitor only supports HDMI 2.0 which provides a maximum of 8bit 60Hz 4k.
Here is AMD's original article on video output color depth. I am inclined that because my video card is new, its driver is not well debugged yet.
Possibly. Does the HP still have factory-installed Win10Pro?
No. As soon as I bought the HP 455 G8, I immediately installed Win 11 Pro clean. There he first began to show 10bit 4k 60Hz.
You want me to try to run a factory image of Win 10 from HP on Acer.
No. The image might corrupt the Acer WinHome. You could try to clean install WinPro to see if it makes any difference but I myself wouldn't do it. What BIOS version number is installed?
I tested a clean install of Wintogo several times - the result is always the same - an underestimated speed of the DP.
Last version of the currunt moment 23/01/12 Version: 1.09
Win2Go doesn't seem like a good test. "Windows To Go is removed in Windows 10, version 2004 and later operating systems. The feature does not support feature updates and therefore does not enable you to stay current. It also requires a specific type of USB that is no longer supported by many OEMs."
Was v1.09 factory installed? Or did you update from an earlier version to try to resolve this issue?
In turn, I can say that I completely installed Win 10 and Win 11 on this laptop with all the Win 10 and Win 11 drivers about 6 times. The result is always the same.
No, BIOS version 1.03 was installed from the factory. I updated to 1.09. At the same time, I did a battery reset and reset to default settings. It did not help.
>>>I updated to 1.09.>>>
Did you update to try to resolve this issue or some other issue?
No, I did not have any visible problems at that time. But I have a habit of keeping drivers and BIOS up to date.
Unlike OS drivers, firmware updates are not routinely recommended unless trying to fix a serious issue due to the risk of adverse side effects or worse.
You can try to test all available BIOS versions. But judging by the change logs, there is nothing related to my problem, except for the very first version.

Sorry, my point was that there might not have been an issue with the original factory-installed firmware with your particular production model. Firmware updates are often meant for problems that arise due to unannounced hardware changes made to later production models
