I recently purchased an Aspire 3 and from the day one I got the dreaded blue screen and stopcode - WHEA uncorrectable error. I spoke with Acer support in the UK and we tried to fix it over the phone but in the end I was told to take it back to the retailer as it appeared to have faulty hardware and need to be looked at. I took it back and was given a new replacement but I have exactly the same problems. I've purposely not loaded anything onto the laptop and I've followed all the procedures as advised by Acer support but it still keeps crashes.

This is my first Acer and its a nice laptop but right now it's unuseable.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

I don't know which exact Aspire 3 model you have, is it the A315-xx or 315-xxG with NVidia graphics is it an 11th or 12th Gen Intel or Aspire 3 AMD, as all this info would help greatly in giving you proper advice. Anyway, as I've got an Aspire 5 A515-57-56UV and have had experience with these laptops for many years as all Aspire laptop models are built as a mid-range to upper range value laptops, but I've never experienced such faults with a new laptop to get BSODs or error out of the box like you are getting, which is very strange. You have to remember that all new laptops need updating and setting up, this is especially with their OSs and the new Win-11 and you have to update to latest version 22H2 and OS build 22621.1105 which is the last OS build, so make sure that you have all that done first.

The error that you are getting WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR is an error because the laptop hasn’t got the windows updates and especially the Chipset Driver and also update to the last bios version, but with the bios you can't update it because the laptop crashes with this error and if you do a bios and it crashes midway it will brick your laptop, so don't do a bios update until all the BSOD blue screens are eliminated and fixed with the updates. Try that as I’m sure that will fix your BSOD error fault. If your Aspire 3 is an intel cpu install. and do a scan with the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant as that will make sure your Aspire has the latest and appropriate Intel drivers always up to date.

Check for overheating: Overheating can cause stability problems and blue screen errors. Make sure your laptop's vents are clear of dust and debris, and place it on a hard, flat surface to ensure proper airflow. You can also use third-party software to monitor your laptop's temperature and see if it's reaching excessive levels.

Try the "Reset this PC without losing your data" option. If you cannot access the recovery feature by pressing Alt+F10 when you see the Acer logo you have to use the Windows Recovery flash drive to boot with and select the "Reset this PC" option in WindowsRE that is loaded on the USB drive. If you don't have a Windows Repair/Recovery Drive, make one on another Windows11 PC. Browse this forum how to make this drive and how to boot with it.
