    Hi,

Could you please post the laptop full model name, like AN5xx-xx, in the meantime, open Acer Care centre and see whether the charge limit has been applied.

    I have this problem also.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get it to 100% charged?

If your Acer Nitro laptop is only charging to 80%, it's likely due to the "Optimized Charging" feature or a similar setting designed to prolong battery life by limiting the maximum charge. To fix this, you can adjust the settings in Acer Care Center or similar software to allow the battery to charge to 100%.
Here's a more detailed explanation and troubleshooting steps:-

    1. Understanding Optimized Charging:
    Purpose:
Acer, like other manufacturers, often includes features like Optimized Charging in their laptops to extend the lifespan of the battery.
    Mechanism:
This feature limits the maximum charge to 80% (or sometimes another percentage) to reduce stress on the battery and slow down its aging process.

    How it works:
It learns your charging habits and tries to time the final 20% of charging so that the battery is fully charged when you're likely to unplug it, minimizing time spent at 100%.2. Troubleshooting and Solutions:
    Check Acer Care Center:
If your laptop has Acer Care Center (or a similar application), open it and look for settings related to battery charging or optimization.
    Disable Optimized Charging:
If you find the option, disable Optimized Charging or Battery Charge Limit to allow the battery to charge to 100%.
Check for other Battery Limiting Software:
Some third-party battery management software might also have this feature enabled.
    Update BIOS and Drivers:
If disabling Optimized Charging doesn't work, consider updating your BIOS and battery drivers to the latest versions.

    Hi,
General consensus on this forum is that you can't prolong Li-Ion laptop battery lifespan that is limited to 1,000 full charge cycles or 4-5 years. after that the battery will fail or performance will be unpredictable like charging and draining issues. "Battey Longevity" is a myth. Uninstall Acer Care Center in Windows "Add or remove programs" disable accSvc and acerAgent.Svc services in Windows Services-Properties-Startup type and click Apply.
