This is not an Acer computer but some old parts from Acer desktops.

This is for testing.

The following parts are from three desktops of Acer M5700.

1. A motherboard G45T AM2 V:1.0

2. A CPU Intel core2 quad

3. A stick of RAM DDR2 2G

4. A PSU LiteOn 6301-08A 300W

5. A monitor Chimei CT522A

These five parts are assembled on top of a bench.

Power on, it starts with a clear beep and the monitor is on with instructions for setting BIOS.

But it shuts itself down round 40 to 50 seconds after power on. Tried many times. It shut itself down everytime.

What seems to be the issue, please?

Thank you.

Remove one peripheral component at a time from the mainboard till you find out if a peripheral is the problem or the mainboard or PSU. First remove the RAM stick. If it still turns off. Replace the stick. Then disconnect the monitor. If it still turns off, plug the monitor back in. Then disconnect the boot drive. Keep checking each removable component one by one until you find which one is causing the problem.
