Hi guys new to laptop gaming and having some issues with my new nitro 5 bought on 7/1/23

The graphics card will only show in device manager , it will not show in the performance section of task manager when i launch a game it will only run on the intel GPU i have been back and forth downloading different drivers new and old from nvidia to no avail both manually and automatically and everytime doing a clean install.

The geforce experience app doesn't work at all wont let me click on home or settings only shows me the option to express download the lastest driver , also the nvidia control panel doesn't work wont even boot up gets as far as the user agreement page and thats it the nitro sense app works but also doesn't show the nvidia card.

Sometimes the icon for the graphics card in device manager gets a yellow warning symbol and then has code 43 listed but sometimes this goes away when i restart or try another driver update but then im back in the same circle!

Im starting to get to the point that i think its actually a hardware problem and something is faulty. can anyone shed any light on this before its back in the box and on its way back to the retailer.

    1. What do you mean by clean install? Does this mean the Acer OEM Windows version was replaced with the Microsoft generic Windows version? They are not the same.
    2. Are you downloading the 3050 drivers from the Acer OEM downloads site or the nvidia generic downloads site?. They're not same either.

The RTX3050 should work perfectly and 100% and should be showing in TM, DM, I've got this same GPU on my Nitro AN515-56 with the i7-11800H cpu and its now running on the Win-11 22H2 OS build 22621.1105 latest and it works 100% and perfectly, as does GeForce Experience with all its listed games that I run on it like Battlefield V and many other games like F1 2022 and the NVIDIA Control Panel also works and I've never ever had problems like you have of an exclamation mark in Device Manager for the RTX3050 GPU, which is very strange and maybe your laptop is not setup correctly and doesn't have the proper drivers and/or the Win-11 OS has corrupted drivers and issues.

My suggestion to you, seeing that this is a brand-new laptop is to do this, like I've done, as I've never ever had any problems:

    1. Do a clean install of Win-11 22H2, download the installation .ISO from Microsoft and initiate the install through your current OS
    2. Before you do a Clean Install of Win-11 22H2 make sure that on another USB you have a copy of the AN515-57s "IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver Version:18.6.1.1016.2" driver, for when you completely delete/format the boot drive, as you won't be able to continue the Win-11 install unless you install this driver for the boot M.2 drive to be recognized.
    3. Finish the Win-11 22H2 installation and make sure that you install all Windows Updates first
    4. Then and this is controversial, but I've never ever had any problems, is to install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and make sure that all Intel drivers including the Intel graphics latest drivers are installed
    5. Do the same for the NVIDIA RTX3050 latest driver version 528.02  WHQL install that and use the Clean Install option to completely uninstall all previous NVIDIA graphics drivers off the laptop
    6. If you have any asterisk next to any drivers in Device Manager, get the obsolete drivers from the AN515-57 Drivers & Manuals to fix those issue up
    7. Also make sure that you only use the oem Acer provided Bluetooth Killer driver version 22.130.0.2 and don't install any new BT drivers from the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant update them.
    8. After all this and when your laptop is operating 100% for at least a week with no crashes, then do an update of the bios to the last bios update for the AN515-57 laptop, which is the version 1.19 - 1. Update Capsule flashing priority to fix recovery fail - dated 2022/11/10. Make sure that your laptop has no chance of crashing, before you do the bios update, and the laptop is prepared for a bios update properly by the antivirus, malware software disabled, the laptop is plugged into a reliable power mains source.

This is how I've update my Nitro 5 AN515-56 with the RTX3050 and the i7-11800H cpu from its oem provided Win-10 Home to the new Win-11 22H2 OS build 22621.1105 and all window updates, as I've had no problems with the GPU and/or any software or BSODs or crashes, except (and I don't know if this is only for the AN515-56 laptop version) but my laptop only works with the oem Acer provided Bluetooth driver for its Killer card and does not operate with any new Win-11 Intel BT driver, that is the only problem that I've had with this laptop but, the oem Acer provided Killer driver works 100% and flawlessly .

If you do all the above and your RTX3050 still is not recognized or you are having the same problem, then I would strongly suggest that you send your AN515-57 back to Acer support or the retailer that you bought this laptop from and get them to diagnose the GPU problem as its probably faulty. Good luck and hope this helps you out as i' speaking from experience as the Nitro laptops are an excellent budget laptop if setup properly and they work 100% and perfectly.
