How to drag when using Acer aspire 3 laptop, wondows 11

Hi so I bought an acer aspire 3 last week but noticed following issues:

in excel when I try to select some cells (in order to copy and paste them elsewhere) by clicking the first cell on the top right and dragging, it doesn’t selcect the desired cells and instead a drop down box pops up asking if I wanT to “cut” or copy. I DO want to copy but I can’t copy until I have first selected the desired cells, and my new acer isn’t allowing me to do that

i have noticed a similar problem in File explorer when I want to select a list of files and copy them elsewhere, I usually would click the top with my left hand, then with my right I drag down the list to select all the files n, then I right click and then I usually do “ctrl” and c to copy. But on this acer when I right click, it deselects then files I have previously selected.

also when I want to open two tabs side by side? I usually click on the top tab and drag to the right, but with this acer it doesn’t drag.

and lastly when I want to scroll down the page by grabbing the scroll tab thingy and dragging it down but I cannot do that on this acer.

can anyone help? If not, Is there a number I can call?

    1. Are you trying to use the touchpad or a touchscreen or a mouse or a combination of all three?
    2. There are many Aspire 3 models. Whch do you have? For example, A315-44?
    3. Also what Excel version are you using? Is it the same version as you used before?
    4. Have you ever used Win11 before?

Yes, the new Aspire 3 and 5 must be all the same, as I've got a brand new Aspire A515- 57-56UV/i5-1235U/16GB (2x8GB DDr4-3200MHz) and that also is very unresponsive to mouse functions and drag and drops and it takes two efforts to respond straight away to mouse functions that I've noticed, so your Excel problems must be related to this common function fault within these new Aspire laptops.

Try to click/highlight the Excel cell and then cut or copy (whichever you want) and then paste it to whatever cell that you want, as that works. I will have to investigate this problem further as the File Explorer is also the same in this Aspire 5 which is a higher spec than your Aspire 3 and these mouse functions should work 100% and quickly without any delays or faults.
