Heya. Just bought the helios5000 (12700 + 3080 10gb ) about 3 months ago.

Was wondering if it’s possible to have Acer upgrade it with a better GPU. Say i want a 4090 but most likely will need a new PSU as well. Ia there an official upgrade ‘program’ so they can install the new components in their service or do i have to do it myself?

You will have to do it yourself; the best PSU for your setup is the Corsair RM1000x and also upgrade the ram to its max 64GB capacity total, into its 4x slots at DDR5-4400MHz ONLY type ram, don't upgrade the ram to anything faster or any overclocked type ram as this desktop does not work with overclocked ram as it has no settings in its bios for such ram.

For example, if you upgrade the ram to DDR5-4800MHz type ram or higher speeds ram, then the speed will only run at 4000MHz total. As upgrading the gpu, psu and ram and also fit a more superior cpu cooler like the Noctura MH-U9S dry cooler or a top AIO water cooling system like a NZXT Kraken X73 but first measure your internal case spacing to see if these types of water-cooling systems will fit as I think that you can only fit a 240mm type?

Ah, thanks for the quick answer. Pretty bummed about it since i’ve never upgraded things myself so, at least not the PSU and worried about all the cables plus the 4xxx connector issue.

Guess i’ll have to watch some videos on it and figure out if i wanna risk it or just wait until the 5xxx series and do it then.

    Again, thanks.
