Acer Swift 3 Internet Problems Is there are new internet driver to fix this?

My Acer Swift 3 continues to have dropped internet connections despite good, consistent Wifi-5GHz from my new DLINK DIR-853 router. I have never had any problems with the internet using my ancient Huawei T5 Mate tablet, all iPhones and Andriod Phones and my new Acer Aspire 3. What can be done to make my old Acer Swift 3's internet connection more robust? There is no problem with the Wifi or the router, but the internet connection keeps getting dropped and my connection keeps resetting my software. Is there are new internet driver to fix this? Or could this be a hardware problem? I notice all my Asus laptops also have the same problem. I was hoping Acer laptops are better. Please advise asap.

@DFSF try to update the wifi driver or update the router firmware

@AnhEZ28, I am not familiar with the location of the drivers in Windows 10 or how to update them. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • What is the swift model? Example SF315-52. What is the model of the wireless network card?

First determine if it is a Windows network setting issue or your WIFI adapter. Get a Lan cable and connect that with your Ethernet port and the router, test if Ethernet link drops too, if OK you can focus on the Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 6E AX211 card ($28), check if this is the same card inside your laptop:
    https://www.amazon.com/WiFi-Wireless-Card-Intel-AX211/dp/B0BN7ZD3FS
Open Device manager and click on Network adapters>Intel AX211>Properties>Advanced and copy these settings:

If that did not help, replace the WIFI card but careful with the antenna plug, many have broken this delicate connector as it is very tight, wiggle it a bit with your fingers, don't use pliers.

Without knowing which of the hundreds of different Swift 3 models you have, we can't give you targeted suggestions, only the generic ones you see here… Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx.
