Hi Community,

I recently purchased an Acer AN515-57. I moved away from my more traditional laptop options to get a higher spec. I’ve encountered an issue. A feature I’ve used previously as a means of powering on my the laptop without opening the lid, is not available on the Nitro BIOS. (My laptop is stored on a mount under my desk). I’d like to request you add (if possible) the option to future BIOS firmware releases to enable starting the laptop when power is restored.

There are no such settings in these laptops, the only settings are for this laptop in the OS when it has an external monitor connected and a user wants the lid closed and he can turn the laptop through the Sleep mode while the lid is closed to an external monitor like below:

Here’s how to use a monitor with your laptop closed:

    1. Open the Control Panel, go to Hardware and Sound and select Power Options.
    2. From the left-hand menu, select “Choose what closing the lid does”. Power options for lid closing open.
    3. In the drop-down options of “when I close the lid” select “Do nothing”.
    4. Click Save changes button.

    Thanks SteveGen.

I have the laptop connected to an external monitor. I want to be able to cycle the power, without opening and closing the lid, to switch it on. Regards.
