Mouse touchpad accidentally deactivated on Aspire 5 - Is the pad cover removable?

I dumped some wine on my keyboard so I grabbed a towel and vigorously wiped it off without first powering down. Appears I got it bone dry except now the mouse touchpad doesn't work. The F7 key works fine and tells me i am switching it on and off . There is no settings option to enable/disable. All I can thing of is maybe some moisture got behind the pad and is causing a problem there. Given the apparent lack of other options I am thinking I should look underneath the pad as it seems like it would be removable. Any ideas? thanks for any responses.

The touch pad can be activated and deactivated by pressing F7 or FN+F7. But since you poured liquid on the keyboard there are chance that it could have damaged the unit touchpad.

Thanks for the response Jack. I found a video which shows the touchpad replacement process on a similar model. There is a little board attached to the back of the touch pad so I think its pooched. The board does not look like a complicated R and R though.
