Aspire A715-42G Regular BSODs I don't think it's connected to any specific software installs
Hey everyone,
Starting a few days ago my Aspire A715-42G has been getting regular BSODs (every few hours of usage, sometimes even more often). I don't think it's connected to any specific software installs, there may have been automatic windows upgrades though.
There's been different error codes (IRQL_Not_less and ntfs.sys as the most common ones) and I've tried most fixes I've found online without any success. I've included the most recent minidumps here as I hope those might help, but I am running out of ideas on how to fix this myself. I also have a complete memory dump from a recent crash I could share if needed. I have a suspicion it may be related to the Mediathek MT7921 Drivers as they have been causing various small problems ever since I first got this laptop, but I've upgraded and replaced them various times without that fixing it so I'm not sure.
Kind regards
Olopi

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000082, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000001, bitfield :
bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff806476ca96d, address which referenced memory

@AnhEZ28 I disabled the wifi card in the device manager and switched to an ethernet connection, but unfortunately I just had another crash upon which the laptop fully restarted, this time without the BSOD screen however.
No crash report was created (event viewer says that "Configuring the Page file for crash dump failed," despite there being more than enough space on the drive)
The reliability history only shows a "previous shutdown was unexpected", the event viewer shows a critical Kernel-Power event. I'm not sure if that's relevant but I have attached it here.
Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
Date: 08/01/2023 03:18:33
Event ID: 41
Task Category: (63)
Level: Critical
Keywords: (70368744177664),(2)
User: SYSTEM
Computer: LAPTOP-4SN6KR9O
Description:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Try to restore your system (in Windows or with your recovery USB stick) to an earlier date, try also older dates if the most recent restore point fails
If system restore does not fix the BSOD issue do a disk recovery job if you have saved a backup of your SSD on an external disk, If you don't have a backup you need to reinstall your OS and Acer drivers, best to ask ACER Service to do that at a small fee or free if under warranty.

This is happening because windows cannot handle the 2 graphic cards active at the same time. The driver of the controller is causing this
I FIXED it by disabling the inter graphic card (you just need to disable one of them either intel or nvidia) and will keep it like that until a decent driver update is coming fixing the issue!
