hello I'm back again, I have an Acer Aspire 5532. it's been overheating and shutting down so I'm about to change out the fan. how do I know if I need to change out the heat sink too? I bought the fan and I got the heat sink with it too. so should I change both of them out ?

This laptop due to its age has allot of issues, its the same as some of the older Acer Aspire laptops that overheat (I've got an old V3-571G and that overheats also) and repasting the cpu is essential but the heatsink makes no difference as heatsinks don't deteriorate unless they are cracked or damaged. If you have a new heatsink then change the new to old, also you can like I've done, mod the laptop with extra vent holes so that the heat disperses more and try that, also use a tablet cooler to cool this laptop also, as all that will improve temps

Do some of these mods that will improve temps and also use thermal pads
