Hi all,

My Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51-55WL was suddenly turned off, and since then, I can't turn it on. Here are some points:

- I tried some methods I found in the forum, such as pressing the button in the pinhole in the back of the laptop for one min to reset the electric circuit, and it did nothing.

- I see no indication that the laptop gets power - the charging light stays off also when the laptop is plugged in.

- The power charger is probably okay; it worked well a few mins before the laptop died.

- I opened the laptop's back lid and saw I have a removable battery.

What can be the root cause?

How can I fix it?

Thanks,

Oran

You first need to clean those dirty fans😁and repaste the cpu/gpu. The no power issues are many and it could be from the DC cable and where this cable pluggs into the mobo is where the primary power circuitries like the mostats and capacitors may be shorted and burned out and need replacing, or it could even be from the USB board that could have a USB chip shorted.

First disconnect the main battery, bios battery and tha USB board and also take the ram out, after short the +&- pins on the bios battery mobo plug, leave everything disconnected for about 15min, then reconnect everything except the USB board and boot laptop, as that should boot your laptop. If not, then its an internal circuitry issue(s) that need an experience tech to analyse and fix, as user like you can't fix these things without knolage and/or the right equipment to change microscopic circuitries.

Disconnect the USB board and the DC mobo plug from the mobo before you boot the laptop, as shown below wghere the red arrows are.
