Can't connect SATA cable to my A515-51-523X motherboard

Hello, I'm trying to add an additional SSD drive to my A515-51-523X, but it didn't come with the SATA cable or bracket to add an additional one. It looks like there is a port on the motherboard to connect the SATA cable. I bought a bracket and cable that's supposed to be for my computer model, but I can't get the cable to connect to the motherboard port. I don't know if it's the wrong cable or if I'm just trying to connect it wrong. When I try to connect the cable, it doesn't "click" into the port. Also, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to screw in the bracket.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello!!

    @Cinna,

    Below is the Storage specification for A515-51.

    As per the above info, you need not to open whole chassis of laptop. At the base it has HDD compartment. Just open it and you should be able to find cable to connect HDD\SSHD.

    Hope this information helps you.

    Regards,

    Hello @Balatekie

    Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, there is no cable to connect to the HDD/SSD.

    These are all the parts that you need to attach an additional 2.5" HDD or SSD drive to the A515-51 empty space, you need a SATA cable (don't get any other cable except this, as it will not work) you also need the HDD Bracket, 4x HDD bracket securing screws and 4x Bracket to laptop base securing screws as I've detailed below. and make sure that you get this exact Acer part numbers that I've detailed below, especially with the cable and screws, as the screws are different sizes.

    Do you have a tape to compare the dimensions? Its hard to tell from the photos :D , sometimes you have to push a bit harder than it feelsyou should

    Thank you for your information. I ordered another cable with the part number you provided, and it looks identical to the cable I already had. For this type off connection, should I just be able to click the cable into the port on the motherboard, or is there some sort of trick to it?

    ***UPDATE***

    Finally figured it out! To connect the cable to the motherboard, I had to press down on one side first until hearing a small click, then repeat on the other side.

    The bracket didn't work as there was nowhere to screw it in place, but the laptop cover had some green foam material that lines up over where the drive goes, and it seems to be pushing down and holding the drive in place without a bracket.
