Predator orion 5000 P05-640 unknown whirring when fans are at min, opening basic programs

I just noticed an odd whirring type sound when when I am using auto/min fan settings and open something like Chrome. I watched the fan RPMs of of everything and nothing really changed outside of a couple rpm on the cpu or gpu. I've had the computer for about 6 weeks, still deciding whether I want to keep it since it has poor airflow in general and the cpu fan needs an upgrade.

Has anyone else noticed a sound like this? Might be the PSU? It's concerning to hear an odd sound like that so soon after buying. I dont/can't notice when under real load because I typically run the fans at high speeds to help performance.

Hard to say. The sound might come from the PSU, but it could also be coil whine from GPU. If it is coming from the GPU, coil whine is more noticeable when GPU is hard at work. Sometimes coil whine comes from certain components on the motherboard like VRM.

If you take off the side panel you should be able to locate the source. When your PC is off, does your PSU make any noise? Guite a few PO3 series PSUs make noise even even the PC is turned off.

i had the same problem with mine the PO5-640-UB11 on mine it was the 3070 fans causing it when on auto..and to me it was more like a clicking sound ... if i put them in gaming mode it goes away and i figured it out in custom mode by slowly raising the levels until it went away then i was able to pinpoint what fan it was then i opened the case to make sure so i got a replacement from BestBuy before i couldn't so Goodluck could be anything
