I was just told by someone in another forum that the problem may be with the "Trusted Platform Module" (TPM) and told I need to :Change Binaries". I have NO IDEA what they are talking about.
How can I do away with the Encryption in the motherboard of my Gateway DX4380G-UW308 Computer?
It won't let me boot on ANYTHING. Can't boot on a CD/DVD or Hard Drive (Internal or External).
Does not boot (or try to boot) from ANY device.
This happened when I tried to install Windows 7 from a DVD while logged into Windows 8.
The computer has been this way ever since. Disabling Secure Boot doesn't change anything. I am told it's being done by a CHIP on the motherboard.
All I get is a message "Insert Boot Media", or something similar. It doesn't even look for a hard drive or CD/DVD
NOTE: I changed the boot in CMOS to Boot from CD/DVD .. Still, the computer will not search for the drive(s). Selecting in the BOOT menu I am only offered the HARD DRIVE. Tried turning off SECURE BOOT. No change.
Is there possibly a JUMPER somewhere?
Please help!
