Hello all,

Newbie here. I have a Nitro AN515-54 and I'm going to be traveling to Australia next week. I have an International Travel Adapter Voltage Converter, Down Voltage 220 V to 110 V but my question is, will this do any harm to my internal power supply or my AC power cord?

TIA

Keith

No harm will be done, the adaptor has an adjustable voltage range and these adaptors are made for global use, I'm using an Acer oem adaptor for my AN515-56 with Australian power outlets of 240V and have done so for many years with laptops and all sorts of component, as in Australia our power outlets points are all 240V with a 3 pin plug of a neutral, a positive and a negative prong (see below,) you will need an adaptor to fit our power points, so make sure that you have one or and if you forgot an adaptor for the US two pin plugs, you can always bend these prongs to fir our power outlets, be warned: as that is NOT recommended but they do work, as I've got allot of US dual plug components that I plug into Australian power outlets and they have worked for years.

Thoseare your options as the adaptor plug is your safest and best to have. Good luck and hope this helps you out, and happy holidays in our great and beautiful country, btw and so far, we've had a pretty cool summer and like only a few days of 43c (110F) temps in Sydney, as other and more western parts get really hot all year around but especially in January February and March as temps get as high as 55c in some parts of Australia. Also highly recommend that you visit all the magnificent beaches and the extensive and vast beauty of our coastline and inlands that Australia is so renowned for and especially taste some of our magnificent clean and organic sea foods and steaks! Happy Holidaying 😀👍

Thanks for taking the time to provide such a detailed response. I just wanted to be 100% sure there wouldn't be a problem as this laptop is used for my work and I can't afford to lose it. Here is the adapter I picked up last week. https://www.amazon.com/VPLONG-Convenient-International-Universal-Worldwide/dp/B0B3F42CGJ

This will be our second trip. Our daughter lives in Adelaide. We're happy it'll be warm as we are in the cold season here in the states. Also, we'll be able to pack lighter weight clothing so it won't be so taxing on the back (and wallet)
