Predator Orion 7000 - PO7-640 Frostblades Still waiting on Predator RGB ram to arrive

Switched out the Noctua a12x25 on AIO to Predator Frostblade fans, was expecting much worse temps but there's only 1 degree difference between them, about the same noise on max RPM and Frostblades look way better, added a pic for reference. Still waiting on Predator RGB ram to arrive so will update on that when it comes ( if it works)

what model do you have and rgb ram works? I mean it looks like it is Haha I didn't think that was possible or did u have to add something to make it work and were did Ya get the extra frost blade fans from? and are they set for intake or exhaust? I have the PO5-640-UB11 and was thinking of adding to fans on the top to see if it does any good at all

the system model is the orion 7000 po7-640 , i believe the the orion 5000 has a near identical motherboard and from everything i've seen can be upgraded into a 7000, just by exchanging a few things such as the top radiator coverplate and chassis part, the GPU riser part. The motherboard itself has 4 argb connectors top right of the board, all 4 are in use but by changing out the AIO to a 240mm you will free the AIO connector up, connecting a hub onto that and you end up with multiple argb and Fan connectors to use and it hides nicely on the otherside of the case. So the argb ram currently on there is only just argb heatsinks connected to the hub which syncs to the motherboard so all the lights and effects are the same as every other.

    Argb heatsinks

Here's the fans , Acer should do more marketing because these are amazing

The AIO i'm using it allows custom gifs animations, jpegs and displays realtime device temperature data so quite useful, easy motherboard out job, does require the backplate to be changed.

12th gen intel frame will bring temps down and stops CPU buckle and bend

3.1 front panel to 20 pin adaptor, although you lose the hot swappable usb C drive option, for me personally i don't a carry hard drive to any friends house - this gives me back my front panel USB s with full functionality

Motherboard lacks a usb 2.0 for any AIO which requires it and the reason for the above adaptor is that one of our 20 pins onboard needs to be converted to a 2.0

This new MX-6 thermal paste is amazing, the reviews have been very good, and in my own tests performs better then thermal grizzly which is more expensive, definitely worth changing out , and one of the easiest things to swap out for improving temperatures

Lastly i've got this ram ordered, just to see if it works, it does have argb built in so will be interesting to see if the motherboard accepts it and syncs with it, it's predator branded so fits the theme

Future changes i will upgrade the PSU to something which can support the rtx 4090 and possbily a motherboard change for a different generation of processor - i do wish Acer predator started producing gaming motherboards with their own branding would be amazing.

Also as a side note i got this

An argb 90 degree power connector, the lights work and it syncs amazingly, but there's actually one major quirk of this motherboard the 24 pin connector on board is on backwards, meaning by using such a adaptor it puts all the wires over the board lol, rendering its use for that purpose useless, so i just took the connector out and used the shell and light element as something to give a glow under my GPU as that area of the case is rather dark anyway, but thought i'd mention this as a buyer beware element.

Apologies, forgot to mention they are set as Exhaust on the AIO - From what i read some people have successfully used 240mm AIO on PO5-640, i believe as standard it comes with a ARGB fan on the processor, if you got room for a extra two fans above it will help temps for sure.

    Hi jh82,

So i had quick look on Amazon and they dispatch from their EU site, i looked for their global shipping program and it seems it needs to be in the global store, the fans didn't show up there, so that rules out Amazon.

The other other site i found selling these was

There's a option to contact them regarding delivery - maybe they can post them out internationally.

they say they do : -

    INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY

We deliver throughout Europe and the rest of the world. The payment methods available may vary depending on the delivery location.

so I'm curious did you just swap out a rgb fan with the non rgb fan it came with? and then did you just add another fan? or do you have a 240 and if so, how did you hook up the acer liquid cooling to it? then all you do is add memory with argb capability and it works? and did yours come with the i7 or i9 ? and what other mods did Ya do ?

The easiest way to think of the predator argb is like Asus sync or Msi mystic, it will take control of everything connected to its motherboard - so originally this came with a 120mm AIO with the predator logo , which is a single fan radiator on a i9-12900k. It's just not enough for a cpu which runs so hot, so i went with that 240mm AIO from Asus mainly because of the screen built in but any other can work as long as it has a LGA1700 bracket, the motherboard out job isn't hard at all, this particular AIO comes with it's own controller

Argb in at the top - goes to motherboard ARGB connector it takes the place of the removed 120mm predator AIO, the middle connector is a Sata power which you can connect one of the spares coming off the PSU, the last connector on the top ( right of the picture ) is a USB which connects to the pump - the pump has another cable which needs to connect to a USB 2.0 connector on the motherboard or in our case the Adaptor ( 3.0 to usb 2.0 ) *Note if this cable is connected directly to the pump header where the predator AIO was connected it will blow the AIO up!*

Now it's all setup, we have 3 fan connectors and 1 argb on this side and i believe 3 argb on the otherside, and they all work off that one header its all connected to, the predator argb front fans we'll leave connected to the motherboard, same with the rear exhaust fan , so we only need to use 2 argb slots on this hub, you could technically get away with using splitters and use one argb slot for two fans but in this instance we give them a slot each. So fan -1 and fan -2 is the two AIO frostblade fans , the frostblade fans also have ARGB connectors so we connect them to the 3 pin argb slots on the hub and that's it they are now synced to Predator sense.

The ASUS ryujin ii comes in two version with argb fans or without, i chose the one without as it works out cheaper and i wanted to put frostblades onto it.

As for the ARGB ram covers or infact any other ARGB you can connect them direct to the hub and they will connect, make sure the device is ARGB as there's a difference between RGB and ARGB you can't connect one to the other as it's different voltages, Argb is 5v i believe. These particular Argb covers do daisy chain so one connects to the other, meaning you only use one of your hub slots for them, they are nice but the predator ram i've ordered if it works should give RGB direct from the motherboard but we've yet to see how that plays out.

wow that's a lot of work Haha i think if i ever upgrade in a few years since this is only 6 months old ill just get a corsair high end one it comes with everything u did lol and prob less cost but thx for explaining it all but that's beyond what i want to do and i say corsair because i don't think acer will ever change but who knows all the reviews on either 7000 series model all say the same thing need a 240 up top etc. so maybe the next ones coming out they will adapt and change it up for now I'm happy with my 5000 series as is

Most would argue for a custom built PC over modifying , i think it's good that Acer have given the option to it's customers to apply their own modifications to meet their needs, some others like HP for instance are trying the same by offering their Omen 45L case, would be great if acer started selling it's own cases too.

    NeoGeo,

Thanks, I was aware of that site while searching for a place to purchase these from. However, I'm not sure it's worth the extra expense to buy them from there.

Yea this is an extra charge, even here in the UK there wasn't any suppliers so had to get them imported from the EU and pay import taxes, and although it does cost significantly more, the performance of these is very good and i'm comparing them directly to Noctua AF12s which were considered the best fans until the Phanteks T30s came along. ( both being non rgb )

Because of how hard the Frostblades are to get, there isn't many reviews on them.
