Predator Helios 300 PH315-51 screen randomly going black (only) while typing.

This is a new issue that just started a day ago. It only happens when I am typing, and only very occasionally (so far). When typing, the screen will go black but the backlit keys stay on so the computer is still running. Then the screen is flash back on and sometimes go right back to working properly. Other times it will go black again and then backlit keys turn off, and I will have to use the power button to get the screen/keys back on.

It even happen once while typing this questions, but as soon as the screen flashed back on I was able to type the rest of the question without issue. Is this a keyboard issue or a screen issue? I guess the real question is whether this is the kind of issue that is just going to get worse and isn't worth trying to fix or not.

Didn't realize that the bracelet my wife bought me for Christmas had a magnetic clasp that was fooling the laptop into thinking it was being closed.
