I'm considering upgrading RAM. I am concerned with Corsair and similar vendor cooling vanes that might not fit (clear) the CPU cooling fan next to (above) the DIMM4 slot. My sweet spot is 32GB. Using the DIMM chart, the DIMM4 slot is only an issue if using 4x8GB to reach 32GB - otherwise the option is to use 2x16GB using DIMM1 and DIMM2 slots. Your thoughts?

You have a pre-built medium size Acer proprietary designed laptop. It does not have all the generic update possibilities of a home-built case and mainboard such as from msi. Accordingly, you should try to stay within Acer factory specified recommendations on upgrades or factory maximum suggested capacities such as for PSUs which you inquired about in other threads. The crucial micron suggested kit RAM upgrades are an excellent guide to follow. When you try to venture outside of those upgrade parameters into fancier flashing lights etc that might be available for home-built systems, you run a substantially higher risk of them not working or worse damaging the machine..

This is all the memory DIMM modules and DIMM combination placements for this desktop, also the type of M.2 PCIe 3 x4 type drives as this desktop also caters for 2.5" SATA -3 6Gb/s spinner or 2.5" SSD type drives also, the list is recommended by Acer for the PO3-640, so stick to this setup and type of drive specs and you can't go wrong,

You can also do the Crucial System Scan for the PO3-640 where they recommend 128GB max total memory into this desktops 4x DIMMs slots for DDR4-32000MHz 288pin type memory DIMMs that will give you another guide of a more modern memory upgrade for this desktop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
