Nitro 5 Laptop will not detect headset microphone.

I had a really cheap headset and I noticed that my laptop wasn't using the headset mic, but rather the laptop mic. I got the arctis 3 headset but yet it will only use my laptops mic, all the other options under microphone does not work (will not detect sound). I just want my laptop to use my headset mic.

Ummmm... try going into setting, if you use windows 10 or 11

Select your microphone where it says "Input".

Hi Sekai! I have already tried that, and the only one that works is the "Realtek (R) Audio," which I was told is my laptop microphone. I'm not sure what the "Steam Streaming Microphone" is but when I use it/test it, there is no sound. My headphones are plugged in through an aux cord if that is helpful.

3.5mm headset mic is not a separate item.

Plug in your headset, the computer will prompt you "which device did you plug in", select "headset" --- that's it. If not prompted, then go to realtek audio console to select headset.

You can verify that you are using your headset mic by lightly tapping your headset mic --- the "microphone array" signal meter will jump.
