Hello. I have an acer nitro 5 with a 165hz screen. If I enable variable refresh rate in windows graphics settings my screen starts flickering in games. Task Manager does not flicker. There is no flicker anywhere else, only in games. The flickering looks like I have the wrong refresh rate set. If I turn vrr off the flickering goes away but my fps gets blocked. I have tried different nvidia drivers and the flicker looks different with different driver versions. I have a driver Intel corporation display 30.0.101.1273. Why is this happening? Is it related to the intel graphics drivers? https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/674600/an515-57-584e-screen-issue-graphic-driver-have-problem-in-version-30-0-101-1273 This article has a similar flickering issue.

Just in addition, install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and run this software's scan on your AN515-57, as this software will always update the most appropriate Intel graphics drivers for your AN515-57 laptop which the latest should be version 30.10.0.3959 for the Iris(R) Xi Intel integrated graphics and also install the Arc control panel and all Intel appropriate drivers.

Also, you need to make sure that all the Windows Updates are upt ot date and all the latest updates to the latest Nvidia graphics drivers and versions are done, to the appropriate gpu that is fitted to your AN515-57 and also make sure that you “Uninstall the previous NVidia driver” with the new Nvidia drivers featured option of the "Clean Install" and also install the Nvidia GeForce Experience as that automatically updates to the latest NVidia drivers for your gpu and also sets the ultimate settings for many if not all games that you are playing to what is NVidia Ultimate and best settings for these games.

If you do all the above, then this will stop all the problems of “screen flickers in games if variable refresh rate is enabled” and make your AN515-57 perform to its peak gaming performance.

Most games should use the nvidia GPU, not Intel integrated GPU. So you should right click a blank area on the destop. Then choose the nvidia control panel, not the intel or Windows generic graphics controls, to make changes to the nvidia settings.

@Andrew_Sn mine doesn't work btw, a LCD replacement would do. Based on the Facebook community its a common problem. Light flicker will be solved when updating and removing the sw.
