Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-51: can't upgrade to windows 11?

Hi there,

When I try to upgrade to Windows 11, it says that this PC is not compatible with it; apparently the intel CPU (i7-7700HQ) is not compatible.

Is there any way to upgrade to Windows 11 on this device? Why exactly can I not upgrade to Windows 11 due to the CPU, despite the fact that literally every other requirement is met (including TPM 2.0, etcetera)?

Somewhat bemused. Help, please?

Yes, and I know that its very frustrating as the i7-7700HQ is not compatible with Win-11, this CPU in addition to UEFI, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, to support Windows 11 the CPU must have a feature called VBS or Windows Memory Integrity, but those CPUs for Win-11 that are not on the list do not support these features, that's why MS decided not to include these CPUs in the list and it will never do so, as it can generate a lot of performance problems. Windows 10 will be compatible until 2025, the recommendation is to keep it, if you keep using this processor. To run Win-11 you will need to buy a compatible Predator laptop or have a look at a bypass type Win-11 installation, that we can't give you any guides on this forum, but they are available.
