Hello,

Apologies if this is a bit of a strange question but I just wanted to ask if Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54 laptop has an extra M.2 SSD slot in it?

I am looking to buy this laptop and I currently have a 256GB SAMSUNG SM961 M.2, PCIe NVMe SSD Drive that I would like to put into the extra slot if possible. Would this SSD drive be compatible with this laptop?

Would inserting the drive and any possible resulting issues with inserting the drive void the ACER warranty with the laptop?

The part number is NH. QF7EK.006.

Apologies for the number of questions and if I have been unclear at all.

Many Thanks

Alfie

    Hi,

Yes, you will have two M.2 SSD slots in this model, you can use a Gen 4 M.2 SSD in the first slot, you can also install a Gen 3 M.2 NVMe SSD in the second slot, so you can use the Samsung SM961 in the second slot and it's compatible.

As for the warranty question, it depnds on where you live, in some regions, Acer place a warranty warning sticker on the screw and removal of the screw voids the warranty, normally, if you don't have the sticker you can upgrade without voiding warranty, so I would suggest you contact Acer Support centre and get the confirmation about warranty.
