Hey,

I have an Aspire 7 A715-51G-760R with dual boot Win 11 and Ubuntu 22.10.

In Windows, the built in webcam is working but in Ubuntu it's not.

When I start Cheese, it says "no device found".

When I run "$ lsusb", I do find a device called "Quanta Computer, Inc. ACER HD User Facing".

When I run "$ ls /dev | grep video", there is no video0.

I read here that someone had a hardware issue.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

    Hello!!

    @asdffdsas,

    I too experienced same sort of issue when I had my Linux Mint 21 as additional OS in my Aspire laptop. The reason is missing appropriate driver for camera.

    As camera works fine in Windows OS, that confirms it is NOT hardware issue. In Ubuntu OS related driver is available for the imaging devices - camera.

    As a work around, do check for driver update in Ubuntu Software Manager.

    Hope this helps!!
