So I tried using my hyperx cloud flight heawd phones wired with a 3,5mm aux port. (reason why is because I don't have any micro-usb cables) I plug a aux port in the headphones then into the front headphone jack, not the microphone jack. In windows it asks what kind of audio device I plugged in but if I choose headset or headphones nothing happens, there's no sound and they don't show up in the audio switcher. Is there any help?

Okay so the 2 different aux cables I used we're broken. I now tried my sony wh-1000xm3 cable and it works

Those 2 cables are not broken, they are 4 pole cable.

His Sony cable is a 3 pole cable.

The only difference is the mic connection, compare the generic to the Nokia and Apple connectors. The headset connector shown is the mono version, the generic is used for stereo headphones. If your system isn't looking for a mic it doesn't matter is you have the Nokia or Apple.
