    Is this your model? https://www.acer.com/gb-en/laptops/nitro/nitro-5/pdp/NH.QFLEK.002

If it is the above one, you can use M.2 NVMe drives.

If yours already has one and you are looking to upgrade it, you should be able to get its type from the existing one.

    Hi,

Just tried to install a Samsung 980 (not the pro, GEN3) into the second slot of a nitro 5 AN515-58-500A Intel Core i5-12500H but I can't seem to get it up and running.

I can see it in my bios and in de device mngr, but not in the disk mngr nor in the command prompt.

I then put it in a dell 7530 and there I was able to initialize and use it. After putting it back in the Nitro it gave the same results that I still can not see it in the explorer or in the disk mngr.

I you would find something in your quest that could help me out that would be great. otherwise hope you have better luck then me.
