which I can use to Upgrade memory in Acer Aspire A517-52-33VU laptop?

Hi,

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5-loptop with model nr A517-52-33VU. It has 8GB RAM in total, 4GB is easily replaceable after removing the bottom of the device. The other 4 GB seem more difficult to reach.

When I use the memory scanner at www.crucial.com it keeps telling me I would have a A517-52G laptop and the memory could be replaced with 2x32GB. I don't believe this is correct. I think the maximum for this model is to remove 1 SO-DIMM from the slot (i.e. 4GB) and replace it with either 16GB or 32GB.

Yet, I can't find any definite data on what I can use to add / replace as memory.

The memory that is currently present in my laptop has a speed of DDR4-3200 and is single rank.

What are the spec's of the memory which I can use to add extra memory to this laptop? (size, speed, single /double rank. etc.?)

Hi,

This model comes with either 4GB or 8GB onboard memory and a slot for upgrade, as you have 4GB onboard+4GB removable RAM in your model, you can upgrade the 4GB removable RAM with a 16GB 2666/3200MHz DDR4 SODIMM module to make the total memory of 20GB, but avoid any RAM with XMP profile, like Kingston HyperX or Corsair modules.
