Hi ( Newbie here )

I have a Predator PH315-51 and wanting to upgrade the ram up grade and the camera doesn't work .

1) What is the maximum ram I upgrade to ? 32GB or64GB ? Also brand and model

I see the Fury Beast's are suppose to be pretty good , but that could be just marketing .

2) Never actually wanted to use the camera till last week and yes you guessed it . Nothing it doesn't even show up in devices or scanning for devices . So i can't even roll back drivers or uninstall it.

I upgraded to Windows 11 in the hope that it would fix the issue , but nope nothing has fixed it yet .

Any solutions ? From what i see online it's a predator issue

Thanks guys in advance , any and all help would be muchly appreciated 😁

The max ram for your PH315-51 is a max total of 32GB into this laptops 2x slots, the Acer suggested ram specs are at DDR4 2400 or 2666/1.2V/ 260-pin DDR4 SODIMM and its like below:

I would also suggest that you do the Crucial system scan for your PH315-51 as this scan also recommends a max total of 32GB and their fastest ram kit at 2x 16GB DDR4-3200 • CL=22 • NON-ECC • SODIMM • 260-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8/1Rx8 • PC4-25600 as their max and fastest ram for your laptop, btw Crucial 100% guarantees all their scan results.

With the Camera and after trying to either update or refresh the camera driver through Device Manager and that doesn't work, you will need to inspect the LCD EDP CABLE (Acer part#: 50.Q28N2.008) and the CMOS and Dual Microphone Module (which Acer does not list a part # but you can buy this part on either eBay, Amazon etc) as these two parts could be either damaged or the cable not making a connection, this is a big job as you need to remove the bezel and chase the EDP cable and inspect the camera module.

Thanks Steven I'll give that scan a try for the ram great idea .

As for the camera , I never have tried to use it since i bought the laptop.

But yes sounds like a connection issue . The mic works fine , just the web camera .

I'm thinking its going be to difficult to remove the bezel , so might just invest in a 4k external we camera . Soundslike best and easiest option . Plus I don't want to damage the display in any way .

Thanks for your advise mate .

    Have a great weekend 😎

No problems "AussieNoIdea" btw I'm an Aussie too from Sydney😁so, its great to be of help to a fellow Aussie. And yes getting an external cam would be even better as these inbuit cams are pretty useless 1.1 pixels as I've use external cams for years before these laptops ever were the norm. Cheers and have a good one.
