Hello, is there anybody having an issue with the latest Intel Graphic Driver (Version 30.0.101.1273)?

Wherein the screen flickers or even glitches if your refresh rate is set to 165hz?

Troubleshooting Done:

  • 1. I updated the graphic driver directly from Intel, and it fixes the issue
  • 2. Sadly, after installing the Intel version. If you run Windows Update, it will automatically reinstall the Acer Intel Graphic Driver
  • 3. Disabling "Device Installation Settings" which supposed to make sure Windows Update won't install driver updates doesn't solve the issue
  • 4. Hence, I'm stuck on using the Acer Intel Graphic Driver and a flickering screen.

Anybody found a solution on this?

Why are you trying to force the integrated GPU to 165Hz instead of the 3050 GPU?

Not sure what you mean, but the laptop screens settings have it by default. If that's not okay, it shouldn't be available.

How to force an Acer Laptop to use 3050 GPU as the main display adapter?

    Edit:

Not sure what you mean, but the laptop screens settings have it as an available option. If that's not okay, it shouldn't be available to choose from.

For now, my concern is how to stop Windows Update from installing the Acer's version of the Intel Graphics Driver.

I have tried using the Intel version of the Graphic Driver and it fixes all my issue.

Just that Windows Update keep reinstalling the Acer version whenever I check for new updates on Windows Updates.

You should try to use the dedicated nvidia 3050 GPU to drive refresh rates at 165Hz. Trying to drive the Intel integrated CPU/GPU at those high rates are not recommended likely due to thermal management.design to reduce heat stress on the Intel GPU in your proprietary Acer mainboard. Accordingly, you should still be using the Acer Intel CPU/GPU driver. And switch to the nvidia GPU for higher refresh rates.

I would like to use the Dedicated GPU, however there's no option for me to permanently select the Dedicated GPU as the primary display adapter. I can't find one on BIOS, Windows Settings, nor Intel/Nvidia Driver Software Settings.

Though, I finally found the solution! :)

    • Installed the Intel Graphic Driver (Intel Version) and restarted the laptop
    • After reboot, opened Windows Update and let it reinstall the Intel Graphic Driver (Acer Version)
    • Then another reboot, I go to Device Manager, opened the Intel Graphic Driver, went to Driver section and clicked "Rollback Driver"
    • After one last reboot and checking Windows update, the Acer Intel Graphic Driver is not appearing anymore!

All my graphic issues in the laptop is finally fixed.

You're taking a risk forcing the Intel at 165Hz in that mainboard. If the 3050 option wasn't available in the app, you could've simply disabled the Acer Intel CPU in Device Manager to use the 3050.

Hello, I am also facing issues with this intel driver, my screen was flickering in some games until I disabled variable refresh rate in windows graphics settings. I have nitro 5an515 57 534e with 11400h and rtx 3050 ti.
