Hi I was wondering what ram and ssd/hdd are compatible with my newly brought AN515-57-71UX. As well as where is the best pace to purchase in Australia. Can I use and m.2 ssd?

  • Hi,

Download and install CPU-z, run it and find out the specs of your current RAM in SPD tab, if you have a single 8GB module installed, buy another 8GB with same specs(speed, CL value etc.)

You have one M.2 SSD slot for Gen 4 SSDs and another slot for Gen 3 M.2 NVMe SSD, you can install up to 1TB in each slot.

If you can give me the details of what you have in your laptop, I could be able to suggest upgrades.

    CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID

Memory - RAM | DDR, DDR2, DDR3, Desktop, Notebook, Kingston, Corsair | Techbuy Australia

Your AN515-57 has provisions for 2x PCIe 3 x4 M.2 NVMe drives and 1x 2.5" SARA 3 6GB/s drive that comes with its kit of a cable and mounting bracket and screws. The total ram memory that you can upgrade this laptop to is 64GB into its 2x slots at 2x 32GB DDR4-3200MHz. I don't know what your budget is or what you intend using your AN515-57 laptop for, but and if you want to do high end gaming and editing then I would upgrade the ram to 32GB min and even up to 64GB and upgrade your AN515=57 OEM boot M.2 drive PCIe 3 x4 that is usually a WD NS-530 of 512GB OEM drive to a faster boot drive of and like an M.2 1TB PCIe 3 x4 Samsung 970 Pro or the WD NS-750 type M.2 drives or even an PCIe 4 x4 which can operate with this laptop.

If you want the simplest and cheapest ram upgrade and that is to increase its 1x8GB module to16GB total (as this laptop comes OEM with 8GB) then just add exsactly the same module of a 1x 8GB DDR4-32000MHz that you have inside, to find out your existing ram specs, install CPUz to see your AN515-57s ram specs and get the manufacturer and part number of your existing ram and exactly match that with another 1x 8GB DDR4-3200Mhz ram module to match your existing ram, which is the cheapest way to upgrade ram.

The best places I've found as I'm in Sydney Australia, is either on eBay, Mware.com.au or newegg Australia, as the last two always have good specials for allot of components while eBay is good also as its probably got the widest range. Also, you can do go to Crucial who manufacture both memory and ssd drives and who have their own scan called Crucial System Scanner which as they say for guarantees compatible upgrades for more than 175k systems.

Below are the RAM and M.2 drives that Acer recommends and lists for your AN515-57 laptop in its SG:
