Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 fans spin all the time even though temp is low. Fans make a vibrating noise.

Hello,

I just recently bought an Nitro 5, I reach in normal web surfing a maximum cpu temperature of 50 degrees and a gpu temperature of a maximum of 38 degrees. (turned cpu boost off) But the fans keep spinning all the time although it is a low temperature for an laptop. Actually I wouldn't have a big problem with it but the fans make a small vibrating noise at the lowest level (When the laptop is on the table) which I find annoying. Only If I Increase the fans by one level in Nitro Sense it stops

Are there any solutions for this?

No need to worry, its hard drives (HDD) make low-pitched whirring or whining noises – particularly when they're booting up or accessing/storing data – or clicking noises. These are usually perfectly normal and not a cause for concern.

And fans will spin slowly when idle and cpu boost only work when required like while playing games or benchmark, etc

My model has no hdd only a m.2 ssd. I switched off the cpu turbo for lower temperatures becouse I want it quietly. My question was rather whether If I can switch the fans completly off with other tools The fans should only turn on at 60 degrees and not from 45

And is it normal for the fans that they do a small vibrate/rattle noise at the lowest speed?

Fans coil whining its completely normal sometimes you can hear it more at the lowest rpm sometimes at higher that depends on the fan manufacturer unfortunately theres nothing you can do about it im afraid your laptop its completely fine and working normal as it should also i see you have turned turbo boost off you shouldnt undervold it with TS instead unless you feel ok as it it thats fine but it wont go over the stock clocks on high demanding tasks like gaming etc again thats up to you to decide the best for you good luck :)

PS: only 2017/18 - 7th/8th gen Predator/Nitro models will be able to switch off fans completely under 40 degrees im afraid because acer since then used a more aggressive fan curve to keep everything properly cooled down on high demanding tasks

Yes. I either wear earplugs or listen to soothing music with headphones so I'm less annoyed by my laptop coil whine & fan vibes. it's the nature of gaming laptops which don't have the space and mass needed to dampen these noises as well as gaming desktops. PC mobility has some tradeoffs.
