I have an Aspire 5, only 9 months old. The battery will only charge to 80%, also battery will loose charge when turned off? Charged yesterday to 80%, turned on, sitting at 71%???? This may be a coincidence, but this all started when I downloaded latest version 22H2??? Any ideas? Thanks

Seeing that you didn't tell us what Aspire 5 model laptop you have? Do a "Battery Reset" by either inserting a paper pin into the hole to reset the device underneath the laptop or holding the power button for 10 sec, whichever you have?

The you need to do a battery recycle by using the laptop until it turns off completely, then recharge the battery fully, do this a few times so thatthe battery regenerates, these symptoms mainly happen when you use your laptop plugged into mains power and the battery never discharges and is recharged or the battery that you have is a faulty battery or its an eBay, Amazon etc recycled battery.

Do you have any 3rd party Battery Monitors/threshold limiters installed like Acer Care, Battery Limiter, etc. Disables those or even better uninstall all these apps as they keep operating at the background even when disabled. I have not experienced with my Aspire5, or heard from peers, about Battery Charging issues after upgrading to 22H2 but found a thread with this topic on MS Answers forum (a GPU card issue is suggested):
