Hi,

Im trying to find out if I can upgrade my laptop's hard drive to a NVMe . I do beleive I see a M.2 slot but I am unsure if its a SATA or NVMe. I looked up the motherboard and I believe its a NB.GCC11.001 but Im not sure since all the pictures I see I cant seem to find the slot im talking about. When I look up msinfo32 here is what comes up:

Under System Summary

Acer Aspire R5-571T with a Intel Core i5-6200U 2.30Ghz.

System SKU: Aspire R5-571T_1082_1.03

Baseboard Product: Megatron_SK UMA

Version: V1.03

Under Storage in msinfo32:

Drives, Disks, SCSI, IDE

Under IDE: Standard SATA AHCI Controller

Ive attached a picture of the slot circled. My questions are:

Is this a M.2 SATA or a M.2 NVMe?

My guess its a M.2 SATA so if that is the case, question #2 is, is there any beneifit (in speed) by of replaceing the nonfunctional oem hdd with a m.2 SATA or would a 2.5 SSD be fine. Im not gaming just want an increase in speed.

Maybe Im competly inept and that socket has nothing to do with what Im asking butI figure I would ask.

I dont consider myself to be a expert, I just know enough to get myself into trouble :)

Thank you for your help

Ken
