I have an acer nitro 5 an515-43. Ive been using it for 3years and my fans started to have a problem around a year ago. The gpu fan rpm is too low and it makes very noisy sound l. Its very unusual and disturbing for me. Even when idle the noise of my laptop is too loud. The normal rpm when idle for both is around 1600-2000 rpm and max is 5700rpm. But now the gpu rpm is like 200rpm and when i turn it to max its only 300-400rpm maximum. So what is the problem is it because of my fan? I did clean my fan but nothing changed

    Hello!!

    @Iqbalrohesan,

    I understand that your Acer laptop fans are running at low RPM. To isolate the issue, I would like to get few information.

    1. Is your unit running over heated?
    2. Is the fan RPM low at all times or only while using specific apps?
    3. When did you notice this issue & was there any changes prior that?

    Waiting for your response.

    Regards,

    Yes, you are correct. Normal GPU fan idle speed should be about 2K rpm. At 77*C it should be over 3K rpm. Accordingly, the GPU fan rotor bearing has likely failed especially if making noise.

    Both fans are normally sold integrated inside the thermal module. As such they may be difficult or impractical to separate and replace individually . Accordingly, I suggest replacing the integrated thermal module by google searching the part no 24.Q5XN2.001 for vendors who ship to your location. Cost should be about $90usd.

    @Iqbalrohesan try to take the fan blade out like in this video, clean the bearing, and put some gear oil or bearing grease on the fan axle. If that doesn't work, you can replace that GPU fan module. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gha3qWULdqc

    Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
    Thank you and have a nice day!
