Hi there all!

First off I'm using an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-14-R6PD) and the issue that i'm experiencing is that the left side USB (2.0 i think) and headphone port are both not working (both however show signs of life, ie usb port with still slowly charge a device even though it won't even adknowledge that anything's been plugged in on the pc, and plugging in a headphones produces that electronic "click" for lack of a better word when plugging in and removing.)

Troubleshooting so far.

1: Ensured all updates for both windows, amd and drivers are present and installed.

2: Scoured device manager to ensure nothing is just disabled or broken (nfact i couldn't even find the devices for either though that's probably an error on my part).

3:Ran through the usual restarting and repairing options found within windows and bios.

4:With a local technicians help went through the process of buying a new board for the part of the system (not the motherboard but the small board that connects the usb, headphone and power indicator lights to the motherboard.

5:Opened up and cleaned the computer myself ensuring that all connections where properly in and that there was no obvious damage to the motherboard.

Things to note.

The battery indicator and charging light still function perfectly.

This issue started about a year after purchase.

The technictian and I replaced the small board because it had evidence of shorting at some point (I assume this was what cause the problem in the first place)

If anyone has any advice or ideas on how to resolve this issue it'd be greatly appreciated, feel free to ask for screenshots of system info or pictures of the internals.

Either way I hope you ahve a wonderful day and thankyou!

@Nyoho you can check the cable that connects that USB/audio board to the motherboard.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

    @AnhEZ28 Ty ,

I've checked the cable the connects the two and made sure it's properly installed, unfortunately this hasn't fixed the problem.

Some more things to note that I've found interesting.

The speaker that connects to the Usb/audio board also functions perfectly.

I cannot find any usb2.0 or audio jack devices in device manager (even enabling hidden ones.)

    tysm for the advice though
