Hello, I have an old Acer Aspire One AO532h netbook, with 160 GB hard disk with Linux Mint. It used to have XP.

I would like to replace the hard drive with an SSD to see if it speeds up. It can be done ?

Thank you

Yes. A 2.5" 1TB SSD such as the WesternDigital blue series should work just fine.

It will speed it up performance, but this notebook just hasn't got the specs with its Intel Atom N450 /Intel GMA 3150 and 1GB upgradeable to 2GB ram as its really designed for its oem OS like the Win-XP or Win-7 basic.

I've got newer Aspire One Happy 2 with the Intel® Atom™ processor N570, Atom N450, 2GB ram and the Intel GMA 3150 and I've put a 256GB Samsun 850 EVO 2.5" SSD that can run and handle Win-10 Home 64bit but its very slow and the Intel GMA 3150 graphics can't keep up with anything except very basic graphics, so and if you want to run Win-10 Home then install Win-10 Home 32bit or try Win-7 basic
