SP513-54N-58XD Wonky Display

Spin laptop screen went wonky today. I bought it new in February 2022. Is this a Windows update issue? I think they pushed out a major update recently and MS has priors. I tried the suggestions on the 'my Acer screen stopped working' page and no bueno. If i change refresh rate it clears the garbage and refreshes the screen but creeps back into wasteland. THANKS.

    Could you please check the current graphics driver version in Device Manager and compare it with the one in this link:https://www.acer.com/gb-en/support?search=SP513-54N&filter=global_download&suggest=SP513-54N;0

    yes, it's kinda odd. driver date 12/11/2020 version 27.20.100.9079 but the download shows

    date 2021/01/19 Version: 27.20.100.8587

    Newer date but lower rev number. ?

    Details are odd too, looks like it was installed october 1. I looked at the history of other stuff and there are MS updates that day,

    i didn't install anything that day.

    maybe i should try the driver download?

    looks like the 8587 actually came out october 2020.

    If you haven't tried installing 8587 version, give it a try, it might work better than the newer driver.

    While you are trying different drivers go ahead and start a ticket with Acer support. That type of artifact is often a cable or display problem, since you are still in warranty you can have them fix it if it turns out to not be a driver issue.

    We are having this same issue with an i7 of this model, SP513-54N-74V2. Gray horizontal lines, pastel colored vertical lines, shadowing on led screen. 2020 manufacture date.

    Just started happening, maybe a few days ago. External screen using HDMI looks normal. Touchscreen ok.

    Occurs at startup, shows up on BIOS screen. Didn't change display drivers since issue occurs at boot/bios, in addition to normal use of WinX.

    Adding our experience here in case Acer monitors this issue.
