I've had a Nitro 5 AN515-55 for the past one and a half year, and the computer itself has been pretty good except for some minor issues here and there, but recently, I've experienced this stutter / break in my screen that only appears at nights. Once I keep the laptop unused for the night, and reopen it in the morning, it's gone. So I'm certain it's not a display thing. I've been looking for a solution but I'm unable to find one.

My specs are:

i7-10750H

8GB RAM

1TB HDD+ 256GB SSD

I'm attaching an image too, would love to get help!

The GPU is probably overheating and/or the battery charge level has dropped below 50% even though plugged in. If this machine is used for gaming, the fans, thermal ducts and heat sinks should be cleaned and re-pasted annually. This should be considered normal maintenance.

    Hi @muditm8

You can try to reinstall the display drivers to check if that makes any difference.

NOTE: Make sure to reboot the laptop after uninstalling the driver.

If that doesn't work then you can try to reset the laptop to check if that makes any difference.

Check the above link to do a reset.

NOTE: Make sure to backup all the data before the reset.

Hope it will help you in some way.

thanks ragsak28, i just reset my machine, and now it seemed to have worsened, i might just have to call a support engineer afterall. :/

  • Do these stripes also appear when you access the bios? this appears to be a display problem.

hi, egydiocoelho! i just wanted to share a quick update with this situation, it's not a BIOS problem. i've located the problem: it's my intel graphics driver, and now that i've uninstalled and reinstalled the thing, i can say it's kinda fixed, but not totally there, since my display seems to work completely okay on 60Hz, not so much on 144Hz. hope there's some solution for that.

The battery must be 100% charged & plugged in BEFORE starting heavy gaming loads for maximum play tiime. Even though plugged in, the battery will intermittently continue to drain under load till charge level drops below about 50%. At that level, battery charging takes precedent over CPU/GPU load demand. Stuttering and reduced performance begins. Time to stop gaming and allow the battery to recharge back to 100% before starting heavy loads again.
