hello, im kinda a newbie at picking parts i dont know what m.2 i should get in my Nitro 5 AN515-57-535Z. I really can't open my laptop because I will void the warranty, the only way I can upgrade the m.2 slot is by buying an m.2 and going to an acer service center so I still have my warranty

The AN515-57 M2 interface is the PCIe Gen.3x4 and you can fit any NVMe type PCIe Gen.3x4 SSD drives. These are the Acer suggested drives but you can fit others like the excellent Samsung 970 EVO Pro, WD NS750 NVMe or the Adata XPG SX8200 Pro all these PCIe 3 x4 are the best that you can get, it depends on your budget. Or and if you want to get the latest PCIe 4 x4 (which this laptop will never use its speed) potential) then buy a PCIe 4 x4 which will give you the same performance as the PCIe 3 x4 with the interface of your M.2 AN515-57.

These are the Acer fitted and SG suggested M.2 PCIe 3 x4 for the AN515-57:

Oh I have another question um so yeah I bought a crucial mx500 1tb sata 2.5 ssd . So i brought my laptop to an acer service center to upgrade it so the warranty wont get void but then they said it won't work it is not compatible it only shows black screen. So yeah I decided to go m.2 i'm planning to buy the samsung evo 970 plus m.2 but i'm kinda worried that the screen will only go black again if you plug in.

The drives that I recommended to you above are all drives that I can vouch for as I've used these 2.5" and M.2 drives personally, like the and for instance, the Samsung 2.5" 850 EVO SSD that I've used for 5 years and its worked perfectly and flawlessly always, the same with their M.2 drives.

The Crucial 2.5" SSD MX500 does have a compatibility problem with Acer laptops (as its been posted on this community allot of times) but the listed drives that I've given you above are the best that you can use, especially the Samsung as they have great supporting software such as Data Migration for cloning, Magician to monitor update firmware automatically and tune their SSD drives, so does Western Digital that has their Western Digital Dashboard as I use both and I can recommend both 100%, with the ADATA they are a very quick drive and have used them in one laptop and it performs great as their tested benchmarks are from the web and are right at the top of the M.2 tests, don't know their longevity yet so be aware of that.
