Hello everyone,

I run dual-boot Win10/Debian11 on my Acer 517-51.

On Win10 I can control the speed of the fans and overall they are not high, its always quiet.

But on the other side, Debian 11, as soon as I boot into it, the fans start with a high rpm and the laptop is loud.

-> I tried to install all missing firmwares (including from backports)

-> update-initramfs doesnt give me back any missing firmware but the laptop is still loud.

-> I tried lm-sensors and it doesnt detect any fans.

CPU: Intel i9750H

GPU: Intel and Nvidia gtx 1660 Ti

Motherboard and Bios : Insyde Corp V1.33 Superb_cfs

Any idea?

Try the solutions offered here. I'm just guessing as to your model number, it's likely a Aspire A517-51G or Aspire A517-51GP, depending on whether you have the touchscreen or not, but both are old enough that the full chipset functionality should be supported in the kernel.
