The Nitro came with 8GB RAM. I added a second Acer brand 8GB RAM as described. The computer recognized 16GB of RAM. I then added two additional 8 GB sticks. The computer will not turn on. I then removed the two additional 8GB RAM leaving the original two sticks of RAM in the slots. The computer turns on. Is there something I need to do to have the motherboard recognize 4 8GB sticks of Acer RAM for a total of 32 GB? BTW, I also tried just 3 sticks of RAM. Computer did not turn on. It will only turn on with the 2 8GB Acer RAM.

Which exact Nitro desktop model do you have, the below tables and guides are all ram types that were fitted by Acer and the DIMM's Population Matrix Table is for the N50-610, also and its important that all ram modules are the same specs in all 4x DIMM's. Also do the Crucial scan for an accurate and suggested ram configuration for your N50-6xx desktop, as an alternative.

    Hello StevenGen,

The ACER is N50-620-UA91. It came with the preinstalled 8GB Acer RAM. I added a second Acer UD100 U-DIMM 8GB 2666MHz stick. Slots 1 and 3. The system started and recognized 16GB RAM. I added the exact same Acer UD100 U-DMM 2666 MHz sticks(x2) in slot 2 and 4. The computer would not start. I removed the 2 sticks in slot 2 and 4. The computer started. I attempted just one additional stick in slot 2. No start. I attempted an additional stick in slot 4. No start. Removed the 2 new sticks from slot 2 and 4. The computer started. I see in your table all 4 slots can accept 8GB RAM. This is the configuration I have but the computer does not start with 4 slots each with 8GB RAM)2666MHz that is the ACER brand.

Any suggestions? The table matrix shows each slot with 8GB sticks acceptable. The computer will not boot with this configuration. The RAM sticks are Acer.

All, I attempted one again. I pulled the good know additional RAM I installed. I installed one of the new sticks in the correct slot. The computer booted. Then placed a stick next to the pre-installed RAM. No boot. This computer will only boot with RAM in slot 1 and 3. Why?

    All,

I purchased a ACE 16GB RAM and placed in the factory installed RAM slot(after removing the factory installed 8 GB RAM). I left in the 8GB RAM in slot 2. The computer booted and recognized 24GB RAM. I then filled the two open slots with 8GB RAM each. The system booted and now showed 40GB RAM. 16-8-8-8. Odd configuration. I'm not sure I'm getting the best performance with this configuration. I can say games loaded and played fine. Browsing is quick.

  • You can install up to 64gb of ddr4 ram on that computer:

Setting 16+8+8+8, will make rams work in flexible mode: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005657/boards-and-kits.html
