I have an Acer Aspire A315-21 laptop that I've had for about 4 or 5 years. I recently had an issue where my computer kept crashing frequently to the point where I decided to do a full factory reset. So the reset took about 5 hours to complete and when it finished, it booted up with the Acer logo, then to a black screen, then back to the logo again, then it repeats for a few minutes. After that, it just shuts off.

I can't even press any of the keys to go to recovery mode or safe mode, just only f2 to go to BIOS menu.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

  • Your Aspire A315-21 laptop needs a hard reset, undo the back cover and take the back cover off, disconnect the main battery and then take the RTC/BIOS battery out (use a nonconductive tool to do this) and take the RAM out also, leave these batteries and ram out (also clean the ram pins and port out with a brush) and leave them disconnected for 5 min and then reconnect everything back. Boot the laptop up and be patient as it will take a little while for your laptop to boot, as this resets the super IO and bios chips, as after tall this your laptop should work. If not, then there is other issues like your battery an/or power issues circuitries that need analyzing and replacing, so take your laptop to an experienced technician that can do all that.
