My headset's mic doesn't work on the 3.5mm jack

So I have had the nitro for over an year now and I always had to get those USB adapter headsets because whenever I used to use the 3.5mm headphones and plug them in the mic used to never work I have tried everything check the inputs available still doesn't show anything Soo all this time I had to use a USB adapter but i want to use a 3.5mm does anyone know why it work I checked everything still doesn't show an option to use the headset mic if plugged in with the 3.5mm

Plug in your 3.5mm headset (with a single 3.5mm combo plug).

The computer prompts you "which device did you plug in?", select "headset"

It is not a separate item.

You are using your 3.5mm headset mic. You can verify it by lightly tapping your headset mic, the signal meter (of the microphone array) will jump.
